KAMI

After months of sketching out ideas for the storyline, I have finally settled with one.
Using Paper as the main material, the story shows the relationship of two brothers and how they fight for the special 3D glasses that allows them imaginative control during their playtime.

I am sure those with brothers and sisters have experienced this. You are either the older( thus the natural lead in the make believe world) or the younger (the reluctant follower). Inspired by my two youngest brothers when observing their playtime together.

Representing the two brothers different imaginative style, are two types of paper craft; Origami and Quilling. As the two fights for control, their world changes from one to the next depending on who's in control at the time.

Title: KAMI
Kami means 'paper' in Japanese and coincidentally means 'Us' or 'We' in Malay as well

Colors

"The use of strong colours is again a signature of Zhang Yimou's work. Several scenes in a bamboo forest completely fill the screen with green. Near the end of the film, a fight scene is set in a blizzard. The actors and blood are greatly highlighted on a whiteout background. Another scene uses bright yellow as a colour theme." - Wikipedia
